Over the life of 100 Women Charitable Foundation we have given away over 2 million dollars to local charities doing amazing work and that has only been possible because of our membership. So many 100Women members are so passionate and dedicated about what we do, and would like to share their passion with friends, but don’t always know how to do that. At the request of some members, we have created a sample Join Me letter that you can customize and then email or mail to others you think may be interested in joining our effort.

What the letters says:
Dear Friends,
I’m reaching out to share something meaningful to me, and I hope it may inspire you too.
For nearly two decades, the 100 Women Charitable Foundation has brought together members who want to make a real and lasting impact in our local community—but who may not have the time or resources to do it alone. The concept is simple but powerful: when individual contributions are pooled together, even modest donations can become transformative grants for local nonprofits.
Founded in 2006 with the idea that 100 women giving $100 each could create meaningful change, the organization has now grown to over 450 members and has awarded nearly $2.6 million in grants to charities in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. These grants support vital work in Education, Family, and Health & Wellness—from helping foster youth, preschoolers, and homeless families to supporting survivors of domestic violence, people facing mental health challenges, and many more.
What I appreciate most is how accessible and flexible membership is:
· Minimum calendar year donation is only $100 (fully tax-deductible)
· 100% of donations are given away each year
· Every member gets an equal vote—regardless of donation amount
· You can be as involved as you choose: simply vote each March, or also recommend nonprofits, join grant committees or the board, attend events, or support fundraising activities
There is no pressure, no heavy time commitment—just a meaningful way to support our community collectively. Even if you can’t join the annual event in March, you can still vote online and have the same voice as every other member. The more people who join, the more we are able to give, and the more local organizations we can uplift.
I would love for you to consider joining us. In a region of great wealth but also great need, our shared contributions truly amplify one another. Together, we can make a difference for underserved children, families, and individuals right here at home.

And of course, I’m happy to answer questions or share my own experience.
I hope you’ll consider being part of this wonderful community that is making a collective impact.
Warmly,
