Bring a Friend Into the Fold

Over the life of the 100 Women Charitable Foundation, our members have given away more than $2.7 million to local nonprofits doing incredible work — and none of it happens without you.

So many of our members are genuinely passionate about what we do here, and love talking about it… but “how do I actually get my friend to join?” comes up a lot. Good news: we made that easy. At the request of a few members, we put together a sample Join Me letter — customize it, then email or mail it to someone you think would love this as much as you do.

What's in the Letter

Dear Friends,

I’m reaching out to share something meaningful to me, and I hope it may inspire you too.

For nearly two decades, the 100 Women Charitable Foundation has brought together members who want to make a real, lasting impact in our local community — even without a lot of extra time or resources to spare. The idea is simple but powerful: when we pool individual contributions together, even modest donations turn into transformative grants for local nonprofits.

Founded in 2006 on the idea that 100 women giving $100 each could create real change, we’ve now grown to over 450 members and awarded nearly $2.7 million in grants across Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties — supporting everything from foster youth, preschoolers, and homeless families to survivors of domestic violence and people facing mental health challenges, and so much more.

What I love most is how easy membership actually is:

  • Minimum yearly donation is just $100 (fully tax-deductible)
  • 100% of donations go straight back out as grants each year
  • Every member gets an equal vote, no matter the donation size
  • Get as involved as you want — vote each March, recommend nonprofits, join a grant committee or the board, come to events, or just show up and cheer us on

There’s no pressure and no big time commitment — just a meaningful way to give back, together. Can’t make the annual event in March? No problem, you can vote online and your voice counts just the same. The more of us there are, the more we can give — and the more local organizations we can lift up.

I’d love for you to consider joining us. We live in a region of real wealth and real need, and our combined giving makes a bigger difference than any of us could alone. Together, we can show up for underserved kids, families, and individuals right here at home.

Or just ask me — I’m always happy to talk about it.

Warmly,
